Japan Intercultural Consulting Beers for Books Benefitting Room to Read

Please join us on Friday, July 30th for a very special Beers for Books event organized by Japan Intercultural Consulting in support of Room to Read at Fifty Seven, one of Tokyo's finest lounge bars and restaurants.

Japan Intercultural Consulting is an international training and consulting firm focused on Japanese business and this event welcomes all members of the international business community in Tokyo, Japanese and non-Japanese alike, to gather for a relaxed evening of cocktails and conversation for a great cause.

For this event, we'll be focusing on much-needed books for children in South Africa. The nation has just put on a successful World Cup and has a lot of positive momentum, but the need for educational resources is still vast, especially in the areas where Room to Read is operating.

For those of you new to Beers for Books, the concept is simple: For every drink you have,100 yen will be donated to Room to Read and that buys a treasured high-quality local language book for children. We'll also be featuring a fun raffle to create additional books for kids.

Room to Read is an amazing NPO whose mission is to provide quality educational opportunities to children in developing countries with the goal of empowering kids via literacy and gender equality in education. 今回のイベントで集まった寄付金は、南アフリカの子供たちのために使われることになります。南アフリカはサッカーのワールドカップを行うなど、いろいろとポジティブなニュースもありますが、子供たちの教育はまだまだ遅れており、とくにRoom to Read が活動している地域はまだまだ私達の力が必要です。

Beer for Books　のコンセプトはいたってシンプル。あなたが一杯飲むたびにルーム・トゥ・リード（Room to Read）に100円寄付され、それが現地語の教科書や本となって発展途上国の子供届けられるのです。より沢山の本を寄贈できるように、会場には楽しいラッフルも用意されています。
