Please join us for the 1st ever Beers for Books event in Hiroshima, kindly hosted by the newly-opened Southern Cross Cafe and Bar!
Local resident Gordon Luster has organized an evening of good fun for a great cause and everyone is welcome to join in the fun. Located in the Hondori area, Southern Cross has a full lineup of thirst-quenching drinks and tasty Aussie and Kiwi influenced food.
For those of you new to Beers for Books, the concept is simple: For every drink you have, $1 will be donated to Room to Read and that buys a treasured book for children via Room to Read.
Room to Read is an amazing NPO whose mission is to provide quality educational opportunities to children in developing countries with the goal of empowering kids via literacy and gender equality in education. Room to Read has projects in 9 countries in Asia and Africa including Nepal, Cambodia, Zambia, etc. For more details see www.roomtoread.org or in Japanese www.roomtoread.jp.
