Please join us for this very special 2nd annual Booktoberfest event hosted by Bryan and Sayuri Baird of Baird Brewing at their Nakameguro Taproom in Tokyo!
You're in for a real treat as Baird Brewing makes some of Japan's very best craft beer at their brewery in Numazu, Shizuoka and you'll get it on tap at its peak freshness.
For those of you new to B4B, the concept is simple: For every drink you have, 100 yen will be donated to Room to Read and that buys one treasured local-language book for kids in places like Nepal, Cambodia, Zambia, etc. Have a drink, create a book!
Room to Read is an amazing NPO whose mission is to provide quality educational opportunities to children in developing countries with the goal of empowering kids via literacy and gender equality in education. Room to Read has projects in 9 countries in Asia and Africa including Nepal, Cambodia, Zambia, etc. For more details see www.roomtoread.org or in Japanese www.roomtoread.jp.
Bryan and Sayuri are parents of small children who understand the importance of early childhood education and they've been great supporters of Beers for Books since it began in benefit of Room to Read.
Since the last Booktoberfest, Baird Brewing was awarded THREE gold medals in the World Beer Cup, considered to be "The Olympics of Beer Competition" and has been getting lots of recognition for its fine brews, both locally and globally.
For all you B4B regulars and fans, this is going to be a really cool one so please mark your calendar for this very tasty and special event. See you there!
