Beers for Books - 1st Melbourne event!

On February 1, I swore off drinking for the month as a way to raise money for Room to Read. As of today, I've made it so far with just a few days left to the finish line... To celebrate this momentous feat I have organized Melbourne's first ever Beers for Books event on March 1 at Tuscan Bar in the city.

For those of you new to Beers for Books, the concept is simple: For every beer (particular beer to be announced) you have on the night, $1 will be donated to Room to Read and that buys a treasured book for children via Room to Read.

Room to Read is an amazing NPO whose mission is to provide quality educational opportunities to children in developing countries with the goal of empowering kids via literacy. Room to Read has projects in 9 countries in Asia and Africa including Nepal, Cambodia, Zambia, etc. For more about Room to Read seehttp://www.roomtoread.org/
