5th Annual Beers for Books Rafting/Canyoning/BBQ @ Canyons in Minakami

Its time for a Beers for Books in the great outdoors! Come join us for a B4B Blowout Barbeque Bash July 6th weekend up in Minakami in northern Gunma Prefecture. Canyons, an outdoor tour operator extraordinaire, will host our 5th annual event at Canyon’s lodge on the shores of the Tonegawa River.

This weekend is always a BLAST with outdoor adventure, BBQ, music, and of course...beer and other refreshments. Canyons is a great place for a party and their river/canyoning guides are world class. Be sure to book your space early and feel free to invite your friends.

Participants are encouraged to not only attend the B4B BBQ + party in the evening but also take advantage of the outdoor adventure activities which Canyons is offering together with the main event. Here are some sample packages:

1) B4B BBQ only: ¥2,000 (includes a full BBQ meal, your beers/cocktails are extra and each drink will create one book for kids)

2) Lodge accommodation (includes breakfast) and B4B BBQ: ¥8,000 (Recommended basic package)

3) Half day canyoning or rafting and #2 above:¥15,000. Now is your chance to experience the Tone River either in it or on top of it!

4) Half day of canyoning and half day of rafting and #2 above: ¥21,000. For all you hardcore outdoor adventurers!

This will be a fantastic opportunity to spend some time enjoying the great outdoors up in Minakami followed by a one-of-a-kind B4B event afterwards on the deck of Canyon’s lodge which overlooks the Tonegawa River.

For those of you new to B4B, the concept is simple: For every drink (beer, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverage) you have, Canyons donates 100 yen to Room to Read and that buys one treasured local-language book for kids in places like Nepal, Cambodia, Zambia, etc. Have a drink, create a book!
