Please join us in a month-long celebration of literacy in support of Room to Read’s Book Publishing Program by organizing an event in your town or just join us for the cause!
We'll be kicking the month off with our popular Booktoberfest event and closing it with Beers for BOOks Halloween parties around the world. Here's your chance to organize a fun seasonal event and get together with friends for childhood literacy.
Booktoberfest, modeled after the famous German harvest festival, is simply a chance to have a great time in a local pub/bar/outdoor space with $1 from every drink sold funding a local language book for children in 10 countries supported by Room to Read. Just find a friendly venue and get promoting. It can't get much easier than that.
Beers for BOOks takes a bit more planning/effort, but it has quickly become one of the most fun nights out of the year for book lovers. Why? Because they can dress up as their favorite literary characters for Halloween and get super creative all while supporting Room to Read "B4B style".
Or, if organizing a big event is not your thing, we encourage you to do something fun and creative to raise funds during Booktober for Room to Read's Book Publishing Program.
For ideas, support, more information, please feel free to get in touch with Gary Bremermann at gary(at)robertelonard.jp or find a local Room to Read Chapter in your town and let them know you'd like to support Booktober. Here's where to find them:
Let's make this our biggest Booktober ever!
