Beers for Books @ Meguro Republic

The Room to Read Tokyo Chapter's technology team invites you to Meguro Republic, a beer bar with beers from all over the world, just a few minutes from Meguro Station. Meguro Republic has assembled almost 200 different beers, including their very own “Meguro Beer” starting from 600 Yen and up.

You can get "jibiiru" from all over Japan, including Baird, Coedo, Hitachino Nest (Kiuchi), Kinshachi, Yokohama Beer etc. and of course the international classics: from the thick Guinness to the 100% German LowenBrau, you’re guaranteed to find a beer you like from around the world here.

For those of you new to Beers for Books, the concept is simple: For every drink you have, 100 yen will be donated to Room to Read and that buys a treasured book for children via Room to Read's local language publishing (LLP) program.

Room to Read is an amazing NPO whose mission is to provide quality educational opportunities to children in developing countries with the goal of empowering kids via literacy and gender equality in education. ― 皆さんが飲むビール１杯につき100円が参加店舗から寄付として集められ、アフリカやアジアの7つの発展途上国の児童たちの本になる ―

現地語で書かれた児童書の購入・作成費用が、一冊100円。
皆さんがビール一杯を楽しむと、子供たちに読み書きを学習するための一冊の本が贈られるという仕組みのチャリティ企画、『ビア―ズ・フォー・ブックス』。
一杯のビールが一冊の本になる、誰もが参加できる企画です。
協力店舗で美味しいビールに舌鼓を打っているだけで、いつの間にか子供たちの支援ができちゃうのです！お友達や仲間と、もちろんお一人でも、ただ存分にビールを楽しんでいただくだけでOK。気軽にふらりと立ち寄って、楽しんでください！

3/10 東京・目黒のビール専門店で開催決定！

来たる2011年3月10日（木）は、『ビア―ズ・フォー・ブックス』の名に相応しく、各国のビールをズラリと取り揃えたビールバー「Meguro Republic」で開催いたします。
「Meguro Republic」では、１杯600円から各種ビールを取り揃え、オリジナルの「目黒ビール（700円～）」などの生ビールを日替わりで常時10種類、ボトルビール(600円～)
はなんと200種類以上も！珍しい日本全国各地の地ビールや、定番のGUINNESからフルーティーなベルギーのHOEGARDEN、コク深いエールのBASS PALE ALE、麦芽100％のドイツビールLOWENBRAUなど、世界中のビールもズラリ。
最高の状態で味わってもらえるよう改造した“生ビール専用冷蔵庫”から直出しでサーブされるビールを飲み比べて、あなたのお気に入りを見つけてください！
